Office distractions are costing businesses billions. Distractions such as a visit from a co-worker, a phone call, leaving ones desk, and recieving an e-mail. How do they eliminate this distraction? They can't, you must answer phone and read e-mails in order to comunicate. Communication is crucial for any business. Secondly these distractions give the employees an opportunity to take a little break or a breather between work sessions.

 
What does your desk say about you. If your desk is clean and organized obviously you are in organized person. But what other conclusions can be made, maybe your self motivated, a hard work, and that your always on top of things. So what does a dest thats messy and unorganized say about you. Maybe your a procrastinater, or not on top of things, and just lazy. These are some of the ideas that come to mind, however this may not be the case.

 
Smoking in public places. Some states have passed laws that prohibit smoking in public places. The biggest controversy is smoking in bars. I think that it should be up to the business if it will allow smoking or not. For bars many of their customers are smokers and they could lose business.

 
The power of politeness. In society we have become less and less polite throughout the years. I think that being polite has a huge part in depicting the type of person you really are. The number one rule with anything in life is due on to others as you would want them to do on to you. In other words treat other people the way you want to be treated. If everyone did this the world would become a happier place for all of us.

 
The news reporters and freedom of expression. In the United States we belive in freedom and with freedom we can do what ever we want. But every thing is controled or regulated and I think that news reporters should be regulated to some extent. Such as the incident with the cartoon of the prophet muhammed. The middle eastern countries were extremly upset by this cartoon. I think that making fun of a reliogion especisally of an unstable country is a problem. The news agencies should know that their are boundries that shouldn't be crossed.

 
The government spieng on Americans. The government was reported spieng or listening in on phone calls hear in the U.S. Why, they said it was a matter of national security. Some people thing that the government is infringing on their rights and that they have been violated. In my opinion I think that the government should be able to listen in. If the goverment has reason to belive that listning is nessesary then they should be able to do it. My thinking is if you have nothing to hide then them listing in is completly harmless.

 
I heard it through the grape vine. In school kids talked about one another spreading rumors and other gossip around. Thier were always the ones you knew or called them as the gossip queen. And now even in the work place gossip and rumors float around. Will it always be like this, yes, because people are interested or nosey. People always want to know about other people its our way of life. Did you hear about so and so are some of the things you might hear. Is gossipe good or bad. Well I think thst it portrays to the facts if something is not true it is bad. If it is true than the content should be dealt with in a respectable manner.

 
Employers and thier best assests. What is an employers best asset, it people of course. It is extremly important for the employer to recognize the sacrifices and dedication that their employees have for thier business. A good rule of thumb for any employer is treat them how you would like to be treated. If you as an employer respect your workers and reward them with things such, raise, bonus, ect. your employees are more likely to work harder for you. Happy employees lead to a happy business.

 
I read an article that said thier are to things that make a healthy relationship. One is a fun couple the other is finding someone who is an exact opposite to you. I agrre that bieng a fun couple leads to a happy and fun relationship. However I do not agree that an exact opposite is best. Considering that couple how are the same and enjoy the same things are proven to be happy and remain happy. The problem with opposites is that in the being it may be enjoyable but as time goes on conflict will arise. If two people that are supposed to be together don't enjoy the same things it can cause havac.

 
Leaving a short and sweet voice mail is key. Nobody wants to sit and listen to someone rambling on about nothing for ten minutes do they. Not me, in fact I don't like leaving messages of any kind. Why; it's because I feel like I have to talk to that person to get my message across and to make such that my message has been reiceved. So if your planning on leaving a voice mail give the facts and only the facts. Most voice mails a to long considering that they could have said it in half the time. Be considerate and don't leave long messages.
